Meet your Hosts

Hi there! We’re Jim and Hilary — travel lovers, faith-filled adventurers, and your hosts (with our amazing team) here in beautiful Miller Beach. As Christian believers, we see hospitality as a way to serve others with joy, creating warm and welcoming spaces where our guests can truly relax.

Whenever we can, we pack up our daughter, vizsla pup, and head off on new adventures — exploring cities, soaking up local culture, and (of course!) staying in vacation rentals around the world. We love the sense of discovery, and the chance to “live like a local.” Every trip inspires us with new ideas to incorporate into our own properties.  Some of our favorite travel memories come from the Algarve in southern Portugal, the Dutch side of St. Maarten, the lavender fields of Provence, the island of Mallorca, and lively Austin, Texas.

We first stumbled upon the hidden gem called Miller Beach back in 2003 and instantly fell in love.  Jim’s lightbulb moment to enter the vacation rental business came in 2007 while running the Outer Banks Marathon in North Carolina (fun fact: he placed 38th overall and qualified for Boston!). While flipping through what he thought was a real estate guide, he discovered pages of vacation homes for rent — and the idea for bringing that same experience to Northwest Indiana was born.

Back then, the vacation rental market here barely existed, so Jim built everything from scratch — from creating listings and checklists to training housekeeping teams and designing guest experiences that felt personal and polished. Those same systems, refined over the years, are still part of how we operate today.

Jim is excellent at everything he attempts, including consulting for BAH, engineering, real estate development, and making everything more efficient. Hilary has a background in interior design and event planning, with work featured by Martha Stewart and Vogue. She has a passion for creating distinct, welcoming spaces where every detail feels just right.

Since opening our doors in 2007, we’ve welcomed thousands of guests — families, friends, couples, and groups celebrating life’s biggest moments. From milestone birthdays and family reunions to retreats, weddings, and special getaways, we’re honored to be part of so many happy memories.

Our goal is to provide comfortable, peaceful spaces where you can relax, reconnect, and feel truly at home. Everything we do — from hospitality to maintenance — is done with care and integrity, seeking to honor God and reflect His goodness in every detail.
